Dr. Arif Nasir Butt, Head of the IHRC Diplomatic Mission in India and esteemed social worker, has been appointed as a Member of the Department of Official Language in the Ministry of Home Affairs, India. This prestigious recognition is a source of pride not only for Dr. Butt himself but also for the state of Jharkhand and the Transnational Intergovernmental Organization International Human Rights Commission – IHRC, of which he is a valued member. His inclusion in the Hindi Advisory Committee reflects the recognition of his knowledge and dedication.

Hailing from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, Dr. Butt has gained national recognition for his social work and impressive academic credentials. He holds numerous academic degrees, including BBM, PGDBM, MBA, M.Phil, Ph.D., LLB, and LL.M, establishing him as an authority in various fields. His wide-ranging achievements played a crucial role in his nomination.

In addition to his academic accomplishments, Dr. Butt has long been engaged in humanitarian work. As Chairman of PJHRF (Peace Justice Humanity and Relief Foundation), Dr. Butt played a pivotal role in providing aid during the COVID-19 pandemic, earning him the nickname “Oxygen Man of Jharkhand.” Under his leadership, PJHRF delivered essential medical supplies and food to those most in need. These efforts align perfectly with the values of the Transnational Intergovernmental Organization International Human Rights Commission – IHRC, which focusses on upholding human dignity and supporting vulnerable populations.

He is also an active participant in the religious and cultural life of Jharkhand, supporting the organisation of major festivals such as Eid, Durga Puja, Ganpati Puja, and Chhath Puja. His efforts to promote social unity reinforce the values IHRC advocates on the global stage.

Commenting on Dr. Butt’s appointment, Prof. h.c. Rafal Marcin WASIK Secretary General Chairperson IHRC Group Peacemaker, highlighted the importance of this honour for the organisation:

IHRC Volunteers in India Support Local Communities Through Education and Human Rights Promotion.

Volunteers from the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) in India are actively engaging in a series of initiatives aimed at raising awareness about human rights and supporting education in local communities in the states of Uttarakhand and Bihar. These efforts reflect the mission of the IHRC, which is centred on promoting equality, dignity, and justice worldwide.

In Uttarakhand, IHRC official volunteer Mangal Das organised a program to spread awareness about human rights. As part of this initiative, IHRC posters and banners were displayed to inform the public about the importance of human rights. One of the key aspects of this event was honouring members of the community by presenting them with symbolic gifts and bouquets of flowers. This gesture served as recognition for their contribution to promoting the values of equality and dignity.

In the state of Bihar, IHRC volunteer Parshuram Prasad organised an educational program targeted at children and adults who are unable to read and write. In line with the IHRC’s belief that education is a key driver for personal growth and self-realisation, volunteers made significant efforts to impart knowledge through interactive games and activities. During this event, children received books and educational materials and had the opportunity to participate in learning sessions that combined education with play. This was not only a way to introduce them to the world of knowledge but also to encourage them to continue their educational journey.

Bishop Dr. H.E. Shamsher Khan and IHRC volunteer Parshuram Prasad played a pivotal role in implementing this initiative, sharing IHRC’s values and knowledge with the program’s participants. Together, they emphasised the importance of education as a tool for developing skills and building an informed society.

These actions reflect IHRC’s commitment to supporting initiatives that contribute to improving the quality of life in local communities and promoting the values of equality, dignity, and respect for human rights. The work of IHRC volunteers in India serves as an excellent example of how international cooperation and dedication can bring about tangible changes in people’s lives.

Children from Kalyanpuri, Delhi, experienced an unforgettable day full of learning and fun, thanks to an initiative by the International Human Rights Commission-IHRC. The event was organised by Rev. Kailash Kuriya, IHRC Volunteer Coordinator for the Delhi region, and Madhu Kuriya, an official IHRC volunteer. Thanks to their commitment, the young people of Delhi were able to broaden their educational horizons and develop their creativity in a friendly atmosphere.

The day began with a series of educational activities where the children learnt important lessons from different areas of knowledge. There were also hands-on activities – the children were given stationery items such as notebooks, pens and writing slates to support their learning.

One of the most exciting moments for the participants was the scientific approach to preparing ice cream. This creative task not only provided the children with new knowledge, but was also great fun. Afterwards, the children had the opportunity to express themselves through colouring, which brought them a lot of joy and satisfaction.

“Today’s event was a special day, full of smiles and positive energy. Seeing the children develop their talents and enjoy learning is our greatest reward,” said Rev Kailash Kuriya.

The event also received widespread community support, with many participants highlighting their involvement at the event with IHRC badges. “We are grateful to everyone who contributed to the day, and a special thanks goes to all those who supported our activities. We also thank the Lord for the opportunity to work for the IHRC and bring help where it is needed most,” added Madhu Kuriya.

This event is another example of how the IHRC’s work is improving the lives and education of children, and the importance of supporting local communities through practical educational initiatives. Thanks to the commitment of volunteers and the support of the community, children in Kalyanpuri can enjoy a better start to their future.

Gifts included notebooks, pens, diaries and pictures. The organisers also provided refreshments for all present, which was much appreciated by the local community.

The event received a lot of support from IHRC representatives, including IHRC Secretary General Prof.H.C. Rafal Marcin Wasik, H.E. Jaroslaw Tatarowski (MVC). Bishop H.E. Samsher Khan, IHRC Peace Ambassador and IHRC Special Editor for Asia, expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the initiative.
“I thank God for the opportunity to work with the International Human Rights Commission.
