“The conceptualization of the Project was based on recent trending social vices among school children, which has demeaned them by imbibing deviant behaviors and academic misbelief”, Nwokoma narrated.

He noted that there is now a deteriorating hypothesis amongst young people that says “school na scam”, adding that they’re easily deceived into joining a cult group even at their secondary school levels with the assurance to gain protection or pass their exams without struggles.

He maintained that the Campaign will discuss remedies that address these challenges drawing from experiences with vulnerable populations and showcasing notable interventions from several organizations such as the International Human Rights Commission as case studies for learning.

And also noted that the Campaign will be accompanied by a donation of notebooks to students across the 17 local government areas of Abia State with an implementable network of IHRC Special Monitoring Mission in Nigeria led by the National Coordinator Elijah Vitus Echendu.

Meanwhile, Dr. Duru Hezekiah in his response commended the Back to School Campaign and the sponsorship of Dr. Kingsley Nwokoma, attributing it to his efforts in achieving sustainable development goals.

“We will play host to representatives of Government in Abia State, NGOs, Corporate Organizations, and Government Agencies responsible for addressing youth development globally”, Dr. Duru maintained.
