On May 11, 2025, a significant and joyful event took place celebrating the 20th anniversary of Reverend Dr. Santosh Swain, Zonal Volunteer Coordinator & IHRC Alliance Press Investigative Journalist, and his wife, Sandhya Swain. The event coincided beautifully with the global observance of Mother’s Day, making the occasion doubly special and heartfelt.

The celebration was graced by numerous attendees, including notable community members such as Aarat Bandhu, Padmavati, Shhnaj, Somnath, Shubham, Sunita, Shamiya, Rehan, and Daud Khan, who all participated in the joyous festivities and received heartfelt blessings. Highlighting the spirit of gratitude and respect, all mothers present at the celebration were honoured and received special gifts, symbolising recognition for their invaluable contributions to family and society.

In his address, Bishop Dr. H.E. Samsher Khan, IHRC Peace Ambassador and MNVC Human Rights Law Expert, expressed profound gratitude and underscored the importance of solidarity, kindness, and support within the community. He emphasized the critical role the International Human Rights Commission IHRC Corportion plays in fostering humanitarian aid and support networks worldwide. Attendees were also educated about various ways to actively support and assist vulnerable individuals and communities, reinforcing IHRC’s core mission of promoting human rights and dignity for all.

Bishop Dr. Samsher Khan extended special thanks and acknowledgment to His Excellency Professor H.C. Rafal Marcin Wasik IHRC Alliance Secretary-General, for his steadfast leadership and unwavering support in IHRC’s global humanitarian initiatives.

Additionally, Bishop Khan thanked His Excellency Dawid Szablowski, Head of IHRC Alliance Press Department, for the continuous encouragement and support from the press division, which significantly amplifies IHRC’s message and reach.

Reflecting on this remarkable day, Bishop Dr. Samsher Khan conveyed deep appreciation to God for providing the opportunity to serve humanity through IHRC. Uttrakhand: Celebrations at Sahara Christian Academy
Under the leadership of Rev. R. Stephan Diyali, Zonal Volunteer Coordinator IHRC in Uttarakhand, the celebrations took place at Sahara Christian Academy in Joshiyara, Uttarkashi. The event was attended by children and adults alike, who enthusiastically participated in the Independence Day celebrations, recalling the historic event of 1947. The programme, full of joy and patriotism, highlighted the value of freedom and human rights. The meeting also discussed the role of the IHRC in promoting these values. Participants were informed about opportunities to support local communities in protecting human rights.

Delhi: Celebrations organised by Rev. Kailash Kuriya
Celebration in Delhi, organised by Rev. Kailash Kuriya Zonal Volunteer Coordinator IHRC and Madhu Kuriya Official Volunteer IHRC, brought the local community together to celebrate the country’s independence. The programme, as in other parts of India, aimed to promote human rights and educate about the work of the IHRC. The event helped to create awareness about the protection of human rights and opportunities to support those in need.

Uttar Pradesh: Celebrations in Mau
In Mau, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, celebrations were organised by Bishop Radha Krishna Zonal Volunteer Coordinator IHRC for the region. During the event, which brought together a large number of local people, participants celebrated India’s independence and learned about opportunities to support human rights activities in their region. The programme aimed to strengthen community ties and highlight the value of working together for community development.

Haryana: Community support action
In Haryana, under the leadership of Rev. Mehar Chand Official Volunteer organised a celebration that was combined with a community outreach campaign. Following the programme, around 150 people were provided with meals and refreshments. This event was not only an opportunity to celebrate Independence Day, but also to help those in need, reinforcing IHRC efforts to build a more just society.

Delhi: Event in Devli, Khanpur
Another elebration in the capital Delhi, under the chairmanship of Rev. Dr. Santosh Swain Zonal Volunteer Coordinator, an event was held at Devli, Khanpur. They brought together a large number of participants, both children and adults, to celebrate India’s independence. The celebrations were also an opportunity to highlight the role IHRC plays in protecting human rights in India. The programme aimed to educate on promoting peace and human rights and support for those in need.

India’s Independence Day celebrations, organised by the International Human Rights Commission, were not only an opportunity to commemorate the historic event of 1947, but also to highlight the importance of values such as freedom and human rights. Celebrations in various states brought local communities together to celebrate and learn how to support efforts to protect human rights.

Each of the ceremony chairs expressed their thankfulness for the support provided by key IHRC leaders, including IHRC Secretary General Prof.H.C. Rafal Marcin Wasik, H.E. Jaroslaw Tatarowski (MVC). Bishop H.E. Samsher Khan, IHRC Peace Ambassador and IHRC Special Editor for Asia, highlighting their commitment to promoting human rights and peace in India. The day began with a series of educational activities where the children learnt important lessons from different areas of knowledge. There were also hands-on activities – the children were given stationery items such as notebooks, pens and writing slates to support their learning.

One of the most exciting moments for the participants was the scientific approach to preparing ice cream. This creative task not only provided the children with new knowledge, but was also great fun. Afterwards, the children had the opportunity to express themselves through colouring, which brought them a lot of joy and satisfaction.

“Today’s event was a special day, full of smiles and positive energy. Seeing the children develop their talents and enjoy learning is our greatest reward,” said Rev Kailash Kuriya.

The event also received widespread community support, with many participants highlighting their involvement at the event with IHRC badges. “We are grateful to everyone who contributed to the day, and a special thanks goes to all those who supported our activities. We also thank the Lord for the opportunity to work for the IHRC and bring help where it is needed most,” added Madhu Kuriya.

This event is another example of how the IHRC’s work is improving the lives and education of children, and the importance of supporting local communities through practical educational initiatives. Thanks to the commitment of volunteers and the support of the community, children in Kalyanpuri can enjoy a better start to their future.

During the event, which took place on 28 July, children were rewarded for their achievements with various gifts. The best participants received eight prizes, others six, five or four. Gifts included notebooks, pens, diaries and pictures. The organisers also provided refreshments for all present, which was much appreciated by the local community.

The event received a lot of support from IHRC representatives, including IHRC Secretary General Prof.H.C. Rafal Marcin Wasik, H.E. Jaroslaw Tatarowski (MVC). Bishop H.E. Samsher Khan, IHRC Peace Ambassador and IHRC Special Editor for Asia, expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the initiative.
“I thank God for the opportunity to work with the International Human Rights Commission. With the support of our team, we were able to conduct this worthwhile event that brought much joy and benefit to the children of Bihar” – Bishop H.E. Samsher Khan said.

Thanks to the joint efforts of the IHRC volunteers and the local community, the children of Bihar had the opportunity not only to learn and have fun, but also to develop their skills and interests. “It was a great day for all the participants. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the organisation of this competition and supported our efforts to educate and develop children” – Bishop H.E. Samsher Khan added.

The IHRC continues to advocate for human rights, education and support for local communities, and initiatives such as the one in Bihar are proof of how much can be achieved through collaboration and shared commitment.
