SMM IHRC Ghana, Welcomes H.E. Dr. Duru Hezekiah on Working Visit to Accra.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Duru Hezekaiah, the Ambassador at Large and Head of the Diplomatic Mission for the International Human Rights Commission in Nigeria, arrived in Ghana for a 3-day working visit where he was warmly welcomed by the Special Monitoring Mission of the International Human Rights Commission (SMM IHRC) in Ghana.
At his arrival at the Kotoka International Airport Ghana on Wednesday, the SMM IHRC team led by the Commissioner in Ghana and Head of Volunteers, Amb. Dr Bernard K. Bonarparte, received him after which a short meeting with the available Volunteers was held.
During the meeting, Amb. Dr. Bernard K. Bonarparte highlighted some challenges faced by the Organization in Ghana, appealing for assistance in fascinating expected results.
Meanwhile, Dr. Duru in his response, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception at the airport and promised to render his assistance, particularly in solidifying cooperation with the Ghanaian Government.
Later in the day, Amb. Dr Bernard K. Bonarparte and his team accompanied H.E. Dr. Duru for a courtesy call visit to the Director of Multilateral and Bilateral Relations, Hon. Iddrisu Yakubu at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Accra, while he used the opportunity to intimate him about the objectives and scope of work of the International Human Rights Commission, urging him to give his valuable cooperation in advancing the works of IHRC in Ghana.
He told the Director, Hon. Iddrisu Yakubu, that changing things for Ghanaian people is the priority of IHRC, stressing the need for corporate partnership with the Ghanaian Government in advancing IHRC’s humanitarian interventions and monitoring compliance to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Treaties for the benefits of the country.
While noting IHRC’s massive relief support in the Ukrainian capital could be extended to Ghana through a corporate partnership, he lightly invited the Director to Abuja for the official inauguration of IHRC Nigeria cum book launch and anniversary as the Ambassador at Large and Head of Diplomatic Mission to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The meeting forms part of the Commission’s big idea to create a good working relationship with the Ministry by working closely together to be able to advance in the help for Humanity.
He further assured the Volunteers of the Commission’s commitment to its Mission in Ghana, charging them to continue being the agent of change in their respective communities as he went further to donate IHRC T-shirts and Face caps to the Volunteers.
