Thank you, your Excellency Ambassador Dr. Duru Hezekiah, for creating this important symposium and for this invitation.
I am ever grateful for the cooperation of the Nigerian Government, Members of the Diplomatic Mission, and other Stakeholders whose interest and influence on peacebuilding stretches throughout the world.
Significantly, we meet in Africa – a continent blessed with vast diversity and rich cultural traditions of religious tolerance and inclusion, particularly at this symposium on International Humanitarian Law and Armed Conflicts: African Perspective.
Interestingly, Prof. h.c. Rafal Marcin Wasik doesn’t sit only as the Secretary-General of the International Human Rights Commission but also as a Philanthropist, and an International Expert in the field of Human Rights and Organization Management.
Under his visionary leadership, IHRC is committed to the vision and dedication to protecting the human rights of people around the world and promoting a culture of peace among nations. Working to strengthen and support all nations’ capacity to engage in sustainable development through educational access, relief programs, ecological and bioethical reflections and actions, while taking into consideration the traditional, social, and cultural values of each nation.
As well as promoting gender equality, health, economic development, and awareness regarding the rights of women, children, and youth in developing nations and wherever needed.
They are guaranteed to everyone without distinction of any kind, such as race, color, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth, or other status. Human rights are essential to the full development of individuals and communities.
Prof. h.c. Rafal Marcin Wasik is a person who has dedicated his life to serving Humanity. A man with the courage and vision to wake up every morning with the passion to serve humanity with improvements in people’s lives and peace around the world.
Sir Rafal, strongly believes that “what we do today, we do for generations”, while focusing on resolving international conflicts and humanitarian crises are his priorities.
As an International Expert from the International Agency of the Public Security Geneva, Prof. h.c. Rafal Marcin Wasik has vast experience working as a recognized international observer in the conflict zone in Ukraine, and organizer of various international humanitarian and diplomatic meetings and conferences around the world.
His first visit to Nigeria envisages the IHRC Europe-Africa Cooperation, which is the premise for engendering Nigeria’s Economic Development and consolidating President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Beyond the different high-level meetings that steer the relations, the IHRC must engage in dialogues with various partners to advance mutually agreed priorities aimed at maintaining constructive relations between states.
To this end, IHRC will join forces with the Nigerian Government and other African Leaders to facilitate a continental approach towards peace and security, democracy, human rights, development, and sustainable economic growth in Africa, where the human rights of people will be fully protected.
The IHRC Head of Diplomatic Mission in Nigeria, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Duru Hezekiah will however, maintain the established communications with the Government in achieving the expected outcome between the International Human Rights Commission IHRC and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
