Humanitarian Outreach Under the Banner of IHRC

Today, the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) held a heartfelt outreach program for schoolchildren in Kalyan, Mumbai, Maharashtra. The event was attended by H.E Bishop Dr. Samsher Khan, Peace Ambassador & High Commissioner MNVC SMM IHRC, alongside Noor Mohammad Rahmani and Mehtab Rahmani (Zonal Volunteer Coordinators IHRC), as well as volunteers Sarfaraz Rais and Aftab Rahmani.

Supporting the Next Generation

During the program, essential school supplies—including notebooks, pencils, erasers, and biscuits—were distributed to young students. This small yet meaningful gesture brought joy to the children and highlighted IHRC’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities.

“It was a very happy and good moment with the children, and we express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Samsher Khan for his presence and leadership. We thank God for enabling us to organize this impactful event under the IHRC banner.”

Strengthening Community and Human Rights

The event served as an opportunity to raise awareness about IHRC’s mission and encourage greater community involvement in supporting those in need. Many attendees proudly identified themselves with their IHRC ID, emphasizing the organization’s growing impact at the grassroots level.

Upholding Human Rights and Dignity

At its core, today’s initiative embodies the universal principles enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights—notably, the right of every child to education, dignity, and development. The International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) remains unwavering in its commitment to advancing these rights, particularly for those most at risk of marginalization.

“Our presence here is a reminder that every act of kindness is a concrete step towards a world where human rights are protected and every child’s potential is valued.”

IHRC reiterates its call to all stakeholders—governments, institutions, and civil society—to redouble their efforts in upholding and defending the rights of children everywhere. 2,000 Trees to Be Planted Along Damascus–Aleppo Highway

Planting Seeds of Hope

In an inspiring demonstration of solidarity and hope, Syrian civil society organisations have launched the “A Tree for Syria” initiative, targeting the planting of 2,000 trees along the Damascus–Aleppo highway near Maarrat al-Numan. This marks the first step in a broader national campaign to plant two million trees countrywide.

• Manarat Al-Hayat Association

Reviving Nature and Community

The campaign seeks to:

• Restore vegetation cover in areas ravaged by conflict, fire, and desertification
• Improve air quality and food security
• Support environmental and social stability

Organisers emphasise:

“Agriculture is a message of life. Rebuilding Syria starts by planting hope before rebuilding infrastructure.”

The initiative has received strong support from local communities and volunteers, with growing calls to expand into other provinces.
