The International Human Rights Commission IHRC Corporation in Nigeria congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR on his 73rd birthday, acknowledging his dedication to repositioning the country and guiding Nigeria through challenges toward prosperity. However, amidst the celebrations, the IHRC raises concerns about Nigeria’s insecurity challenges, which cannot be ignored.
Recent incidents, such as the mob action on suspected Fulani kidnappers in Edo State and the execution of three Nigerian soldiers by ISIS, highlight the urgent need for President Tinubu to take decisive action. The IHRC urges citizens to pray for divine guidance, unity, and healing, reaffirming President Tinubu’s commitment to democratic gains, economic recovery, and national cohesion.
The Commission, in an official statement by its Head of Diplomatic Mission in Nigeria, H.E, Ambassador Dr. Duru Hezekiah, commends President Tinubu’s passion for progress, dedication to service, and wisdom in decision-making, wishing him a joyous birthday and many more years of inspired leadership.
He said as President Tinubu continues to work toward a brighter future for Nigeria, his administration’s efforts to address the country’s socio-economic challenges are noteworthy.
According to him, the signing of the Students’ Loans Re-enactment Bill into an Act is a significant step in the right direction. The IHRC emphasizes that ensuring measures that improve accessibility and equality of opportunity and increase respect and dignity of persons with disabilities should be a priority for President Tinubu’s administration.
“As President Tinubu marks his 73rd birthday, Nigerians expect him to continue working tirelessly to address the country’s challenges, particularly the insecurity concerns that threaten the nation’s stability and progress”.
The IHRC’s message serves as a reminder of the urgent need for President Tinubu’s administration to prioritize measures that improve security, economic prosperity, national unity, and cohesion in building a country that will be a source of joy to all.
